The CN Tower in Toronto (Ontario, Canada) is one of the country’s landmark. This building can be seen on many photos, pictures and postcards from Canada. For 32 years this was the tallest building in the world (553.3 meters), until Burj Khalifa in Arabic Emirates and Canton Tower in China were finished.
Not many people know that the “CN” part in its name stands for “Canadian National Railway company” because this company built it. Now it belongs to Canada Lands Company, a federal Crown corporation.
Construction cost of CN Tower was 63 millions CAD, which is not that much compared to the income it brought by attracting more tourists and business to the city. According to cntower.ca more than 1.5 million people visiting the place every year, each adult ticket for the general tour (Tower Experience, La Tour) costs $53. So every year tower generates about 79 million revenues only from those visitors.
Almost anybody who visit Toronto goes there as a priority to have a great 360 view on the biggest and most developed Canadian city.
